During the COVID-19 crisis, many Dutch people came together in the supermarket, department store, DIY store or garden center and exceeding the one-and-a-half meter measure is lurking.

Supermarkets, department stores, hardware stores and garden centers have taken measures to combat corona:
An employee who disinfects the shopping trolleys, free gloves and disinfectant are available at the entrance, information boards, walking direction signs, screens made of plexiglass and lines on the floor at the checkouts that indicate how much distance customers should keep and fluorescent vests of shelf fillers with the text 'keep enough distance'.
All this to protect store employees and to underline the need for social distancing.

The one-and-a-half meter measures announced by the cabinet in April 2020 contain strict rules, including the establishment of a door policy and queue regulation.

Unsurprisingly, stores allow a maximum number of customers and take precautions, such as queue regulation, for the benefit of the people waiting. At the moment there are long lines in front of stores in Italy and Spain, where customers have to wait outside to be allowed in.

The expectation is that the Netherlands will also tighten up its measures and make a door policy mandatory, whereby one or two employees will be at the door to regulate the number of customers.
This will undoubtedly lead to queues, which can be difficult to control, and thus safety against Covid-19 contamination cannot be guaranteed.

Pop Up Pallets offers a simple solution for queue regulation, which is completely in line with the one and a half meter society in corona time.

The modular and durable pallet walls of Pop Up Pallets function as a partition with a gap of one and a half meters. When there is also markings in the walkways at a distance of 1.5 meters, it is clear to those waiting and the corona measures can be strictly observed.
Placing a hygiene unit at the entrance where every incoming customer can disinfect their hands and put on gloves increases health safety.
There is also a reliable solution for cleaning and disinfecting the shopping trolleys.
